This piece was built to look like a typical built-in furniture item, while serving a medical purpose.
The seat is a little higher than normal to save backs when bending over. The storage underneath held diaper supplies and linens for the bath. The foam on top made from a high end- medical grade foam and then there was a water protective layer between the foam and the canvas (easy to clean) exterior fabric. To most people it looks like a simple window seat; even the fabric was selected to match the bedroom and take away from any medical look and feel. The photos show a before and after.
